How a night goes

Learn one small thing. Then make your own.

fastest crane wins.Crane Champion 2026

  1. 01 · The first 30 minutes

A short group activity, different every month. This time: paper cranes, finishing with a race. No prior experience needed.

Meet other attendees without having to make small talk.

  2. 02 · After that

Work on whatever you brought along. Fancy knitting, or writing your novel? It's a good time for it!

Chat when you feel like it, put headphones in when you don't.

Join in, or crack on with your own thing. Both are the point.

It's easier to focus when somebody else is doing it too.

Make Stuff Club is a monthly night at Vega in Glasgow for anyone with a thing they keep meaning to get to. Knitting, writing, code, drawing, studying. If you enjoy it, it counts.

Questions

Good to know.

What happens at a night?

The first 30 minutes are a small group activity. This month we're folding paper cranes, finishing with a race: the fastest fold wins Crane Champion 2026. After that everyone works on their own thing at the same tables. Chat, take breaks, or keep your head down.

Do I have to do the activity?

No. Join in, or crack on with your own thing.

What can I bring?

Anything you've been meaning to get to: code, writing, drawing, knitting, studying. Nothing messy like paint or woodwork, as we're in a bar.

Can I come on my own?

Yes, most people do. The format is designed to feel comfortable whether you come alone or with a friend.

Are there free tickets?

Yes, 3 each month for students and anyone going through financial hardship.
